Planning for August 25

I'm starting to think about August 25. We might want to celebrate the completion of the summer concert season with a social event rather than a rehearsal. It could be a cookout at the home of someone who has a large house. It could be a pizza party. It could be a gathering at the Bahai Center where we eat snaks and play mandolin music for one another. It could be something I haven't thought of.

Anybody have a suggestion for a social event on August 25? Anybody want to volunteer to organize something?

Hubby & I would love to have the MMO gang over. We have a large house for entertaining inside and out. Contrary to rumor, Lakeville is not on the Iowa border. We live at the junction of Lakeville, Apple Valley & Burnsville, and directions are easy. My husband is a champion griller and life of the party. I just have to make sure he's available. It's too early for pheasant hunting, so he probably is. Spouses and kids are welcome, too.

I like the idea of a social gathering.

Hubby said "yes" to the idea. So will this be a potluck? Can the MMO fund the meat, which we can grill? We'll plan on it, rain or shine! If you want to Mapquest it now, it's 16172 Gunflint Circle, Lakeville, MN 55044.

OK with me. I wonder, however, if some people might want to have it closer to our usual location.

Also, do people want to have some kind of mandolin-related activity, like playing music for one another or some kind of instructional session?

I'm OK with any decision. We might need to use e-mail instead of this blog to get the word out and get some opinions. Not every MMO member has access to this blog.

Anne, you're on. We'll handle RSVPs via e-mail.
