I use Transcribe! from Seventh String Software. Easy to use. Costs $50. You can try it free for 30 days. Go to http://www.seventhstring.com/ for more information.
Another option is Windows Media Player. I have version 10.0 on my computer. Under the letter N of the "now playing" tab, there's a little rectangle with an arrow pointing down. If you click on that, you get a menu. Choose "enhancements" and then "play speed settings." A slider slider appears at the bottom left of the screen and you can change the speed. It doesn't have the looping or pitch-changing capability of Transcribe! but it works, and the price is right.
I would purchase / use such software if more sound files were available on our website. I am not a proficient sight-reader and have learned to play most songs by ear. So I will continue my cheapskate method of bringing my cassette tape recorder to rehearsal.
